The type of personal information we collect
We currently collect and process the following information:
- Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics, i.e. name and contact details (if you provide it).
- Financial information i.e. bank details (if you complete work for Vashti Ltd and provide your bank details)
- If you donate to Vashti Media, we use your bank card data, but we do not store this data ourselves, rather it is stored by our payment processor Stripe. If you make payments using a cheque or cash, we will also securely store physical records of this.
How we get the personal information and why we have it
The personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:
- you subscribe to our email publications, via the contact form on the website
- you complete work for Vashti
- you donate to Vashti
We use the information that you have given us in order to answer your queries and correspond with you regarding matters concerning Vashti Media Ltd.
If you have donated to Vashti we use the information

How we store your personal information
We securely store your data on a protected database which only we have access to.
If you complete work for Vashti, we keep contact details, bank details, payment records and other such records for a standard retention period of 6 years plus 1 year, for the current financial year. We will then dispose of your information by deleting it from the database.
If you have not completed work for Vashti, we keep subscription contact details (email address) for as long as you are subscribed to our publications plus 2 years. Unless, you ask at any time for your contact to be deleted, in which case it will be removed from our database upon request.
If you donate to Vashti Media, securely store details of when and where you made a payment and how much you paid. We also store your contact details, in order to be in touch with you about opportunities to donate in the future. We will store this information for 2 years from the time of donation plus 1 year for the current financial year. If you ask at any time for your contact to be deleted, it will be removed from our database. We will anonymise donation information after 2 years plus 1 year for the financial year, and delete your contact.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
